Nestle TOLL HOUSE Re-call and Coupon

$1.00/1 Nestle Toll House Morsels exp 8/15/2009

Dear Very Best Baker,

I wanted to personally inform you that on Friday, June 19, we began a voluntary recall of all Nestlé® TOLL HOUSE® refrigerated cookie dough products. We took this action after learning from officials at the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control that there were reports of E. coli 0157:H7 illnesses that may be related to consumption of raw cookie dough.

With a number of the consumers reporting this illness also reported consuming raw Nestlé TOLL HOUSE refrigerated cookie dough. At this point, we have not detected the implicated E. coli strain in our products. However, your health and safety is so important that we initiated the recall while the investigation continues.

No other Nestlé TOLL HOUSE products are impacted, including already baked TOLL HOUSE cookies purchased outside the home, all varieties of Nestlé TOLL HOUSE morsels, chocolate baking bars, or cocoa, and Dreyer's and Edy's ice cream products with Nestlé TOLL HOUSE cookie dough ingredients.

We are asking that if you have any unused Nestlé TOLL HOUSE refrigerated cookie dough at home that you return it to your local grocer for a refund. I would also like to ask you for your support by helping us spread the word of the recall to your friends and family and remind them that raw cookie dough should not be eaten.

You may also click here for regular updates or contact Nestlé Consumer Services with questions at 1-800-559-5025.

At this point, we don't know when we will be back on retailers' shelves with Nestlé TOLL HOUSE refrigerated cookie dough. When we do reappear on store shelves, you can be confident that it will be safe to bake and share with your loved ones and friends.

In the meantime, I encourage you and your family to continue to enjoy America's favorite cookie recipe. Below is our original chocolate chip recipe featuring our Nestlé TOLL HOUSE Morsels.

much appreciation for your past business and continued support,
